I agree!

And, your image illustrates the point very well, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: You may remember seeing this:

I did a painting of this scene.
Mmmm - I would suggest as an alternative 'Stranded'. I think they have a long wait ahead of them.
Mary MacADNski: It would have been perfect. You may have seen this boat before:

Beautiful
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, zed.
Lovely photo, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Sheila. This is a much photographed boat sitting before a lighthouse. You've seen it here before:

Such white sands! LOL. Is this from this season, Mary? I love to see all the different footprints, many of them not human.
Mary MacADNski: You've seen this boat before in a winter landscape shot.

They were reference shots for a painting.

You're quite right Mary: this is splendid
Mary MacADNski: You've seen it before as a tiny boat in a large landscape.
Very nice Mary. It sure looks cold.
Mary MacADNski: It was an extremely cold day in January. I went again to the same spot in February and it was a better day but not sunny so no shadows. I was preparing to paint the whole scene and wanted more photos but the sun was not out so no shadows which was what I needed.

Mary is it in sand or snow, good shadow
Mary MacADNski: This is snow from last January. In some of the other comments I left a link of a scene you would have seen at that time with the boat included. Check other comments for link.
I like this Mary, very nice.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Linda. I'm showing shadows and this certainly qualifies.
Excellent
Like this!
Cheers
Rob
Mary MacADNski: Glad you like it, Rob.
The blue shadows of the snow are beautiful. The boat is again surrounded by water.

Mary MacADNski: This boat is on the shore but snow and ice covered the whole landscape last winter. It will be like this again soon.
As a variation on the earlier shot which I thoroughly enjoyed Mary this is also excellent, particularly the pointy nose of the shadow.
Mary MacADNski: It was good to have this oo as a reference when painting the boat.
I love this picture.
Mary MacADNski: Thank you so much to a first time visitor or commenter anyway.
Lovely shot, Mary.

Would love to know the history behind that boat. Has it been abandoned, left on the shore to rot?
Mary MacADNski: Someone left it there a few years ago to make a picturesque scene i believe. nay people have photographed it and painted it. I've done both myself. I left a link in a few of the comments today of another photograph of the scene. It was my model for tha painting.
"Lovely shot, I feel so cool just looking at it.
Mary MacADNski: That day was very, very cold.
I like this
Mary MacADNski: Thanks you, Claudio. We had our first snow yesterday so many more snow photographs will be appearing soon.

Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Hadassah. It would be a pretty cold ride.
