First Snow 2009

We had our first snow yesterday afternoon (Sunday) and this was one aspect of my view just after noon today.  Pretty but alas, I'm not a huge fan of winter.

We walk in snow on An Island Walk though today when I walked, I forgot my camera.

That is so beautiful. We have had a trace of snow but mostly chilly weather here.

Looks wonderful, Mary...but, I don't much go for cold weather unless I spend it snuggling in bed with company.
Mary MacADNski: That is the perfect solution but when you get four or five months of it you need some upright exercise too and you also have to eat some food.

Neither am I Mary - but it looks pretty
Mary MacADNski: The first snow is always gorgeous. Seeing it is wonderful. Shoveling it and driving in in are what becomes tiring.
Looks like we both had a pretty first snowfall to play with, Ms Mary. Look for the next one on Thursday ....cheers!
Mary MacADNski: Luckily I get my studded tires installed on Wednesday. If we are getting more I will dig out my snowshoes.

Snow looks better in pictures than in person!

I love the snow, but a lot don't, I wish we had more, beautiful.

I suppose when you know that snow is going to come every year, you soon get tired of it but for me it is always a novelty. Looks very pretty.

Looks good to but I don't get to see snow much LOL

This is superb Mary. I am not a winter fan but I enjoy snow from time to time! I am afraid we won't have any this year.
Mary MacADNski: We never know what kind of weather a season could bring. It could be very snowy or rainy, which then freezes to ice. i'd rather have moderate snow.
This is soooooo beautiful. I love this picture smile
Mary MacADNski: It has that first snow look. in a while there will be thick piles of it and I'll be looking forward to dandelions.

Each season has its own charms, Mary. Your winters last much longer than ours, though! If we this much snow all winter I'd be very surprised.
Mary MacADNski: You are absolutely right about the charms of each season. The winter to me is skating on the pond, snowshoeing, and great photography scenes that only a snow survivor can get.
Yes it does look pretty mary but I guess from now on in you are pretty much snowed up for quite along time.
Mary MacADNski: You never know. We've had plenty of winters with very little snow. Usually that means ice and that is a pain too. I'd rather have snow than ice.
Lucky girl...all I can see at the moment is flooded fields. This really is pretty. I gather that you will be showing us more soon.
Mary MacADNski: We have four, four and a half months of this, Ron. You may be getting anxious to see the dandelions.
I suppose one consolation of winter is you get pretty scenes like this. Nice capture Mary.
Mary MacADNski: It's only the first, cornishmaid.
me neither Mary as it usually cost's me money with lost work but i do love the look of a snow blanketed landscape smile
Mary MacADNski: I like the look of it on Christmas cards. LOL
Very pretty picture. But I agree there is nothing pretty about winter. Ray has the right idea. I don't even like our Southern Spanish winter - and we don't get down to freezing!
Mary MacADNski: Ray's idea is the best if you could actually do that for a whole winter. Oh, the fantasies.
