Although there are no little faces peeking out from beneath those rows, Mary, I immediately thought of the cabbage patch kids when I saw this image. Nice shot.
Mary MacADNski: Oh my, I never thought to look. LOL
Interesting whiteness to these cabbages. I like cabbage now but did not as a child. Typical I believe.
Mary MacADNski: Different varieties of cabbage comes in different shades. One field I often pass had rows of different colours yet they were all cabbage. A couple rows were quite purple.
Nice picture, they look frosty, but you didn't have frost in October did you.
I bet the aroma was not so good. (My mother used to live near some vast cabbage fields in Kent, and the smell could be unpleasant.)
Mary MacADNski: It was an incredibly frosty morning but this was high on a hill so I'm not sure. Different varieties of cabbage comes in different shades. One field I often pass had rows of different colours yet they were all cabbage. I did not notice an odour but on a warm day it may have been different. Some complain about the smell after it is digested LOL
They look frosted, Mary. Or is that just the type of cabbage? I like the background colours.
Mary MacADNski: I don't think they had frost on them at that time though they might have earlier that morning. Cabbage, broccoli, Brussels sprouts and cauliflower all belong to the same family and their foliage has a dusty hue like this though the colours can be varied.
The colours show up so much against the cabbage, which is one of my favourite veg, lovely shot mary.
Mary MacADNski: My favorite is from that family. My son's favorite is from another member. My daughter's is yet another member of the family. They're all grown here.
