Not a lot of folks swimming today, Mary.

Your "sand" is white, for a change.
Mary MacADNski: Some did on the annual Polar Bear Swims throughout the Maritimes on January 1st. I've seen them have to cut the ice to get into the water for that crazy annual swim.

Pink to white
All happened in one night
Mary MacADNski: This was actually Saturday and by Sunday all that snow was gone as it had rained all night.

Perfect sunbathing weather smile
Mary MacADNski: For Polar bears, yes.
Snow on the beach, not something you see here all that often...mind you it is very snowy here at the moment!

From the comments, I assume this is snow on the beach, not white sand. Quite a picture of desolation, though.
Mary MacADNski: It is snow ad the foam from the waves looked identical. We had been commenting on that fact.
Almost surreal. I won't swim in the sea today Mary!

cold day at the beach?
Nice shot Mary
Cheers
Rob
Mary MacADNski: It was around zero but very, very windy.
I've never seen a snowy beach. Here in Spain is very rare.
Mary MacADNski: Surfing with no wetsuits would be impossible at this time of year.
I certainly wouldn't like to swim in those waters!
Mary MacADNski: It would be a bit nippy.
That looks a cold scene just like here today.
Mary MacADNski: It was around zero but extremely windy. I cut this headline from my homepage. Thought it was hilarious.

'Britons snowed in by the wintry weather have been flocking to an extra-marital dating site in the last 24 hours.'

very unusual image for us Aussie's
Mary MacADNski: I thought of you when posting lately as you liked the snow shots so much. We have much less snow this winter and less than the rest of Canada as a whole. Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, our two mainlands have had more snow by far this year.
Its not very often you see snow on the beach, do you ever pick up the driftwood for anything.
Mary MacADNski: Driftwood is a specialty, actually.
beautiful photo - that looks quite cold!!
Mary MacADNski: It wasn't that cold but very, very windy.

It's a bit like this here in England Mary

So the snow has caught up with you then Mary as it has with us in GB. Strange to see a snowy beach.
Mary MacADNski: It rained all that night and the next day so it was not there long.
Even in winter, P.E.I. beaches are photogenic. Love this one, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: Tahnks, Beverly. It was a rough, windy day so every shot seems a bit blurry from this day.
Simply gorgeous smile
Mary MacADNski: It was gorgeous and a wildly windy day.
Nice and bright (= very good).
Mary MacADNski: Winter can give so may conditions. It can be a challenge. The wind was moving the camera this day.
