A gorgeous specimen!!!! Beautiful capture smile
Mary MacADNski: Goldfinches are sweet little birds. He's wearing his winter coat but by spring his bright yellow head will appear, bringing colour to the trees.

A pretty little fellow, too.
Mary MacADNski: The gold finch will have a bright yellow head in a few months. Today he's wearing his winter coat.

SX10 IS - OK, OK.

An excellent picture.
Mary MacADNski: It is a pretty nice box. I've had it a year now and had to have a warranty repair but other than that, I like it a lot.

He looks quite a bit different from our goldfinches which have a red face. Lovely bird portrait. Our birds have been having a tough time of it recently with the snow - a lot of these have been coming to our garden to feed on the seeds we put out.

Mary MacADNski: Goldfinches overwinter here and come on flocks of 40 or 50. They are very sweet and completely trusting of the cats who have been trained not to bother the birds. Unlike chickaddes however, I can not get them to eat from my hand.

An attractive little bird. I've not heard of an American Goldfinch before and my research now tells me that this is a female, jusging by the colourings. I hope she was rewarded for the pose.
Mary MacADNski: The males and females are alike in winter. Only the males get the bright yellow heads in spring.
lovely shot, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Kavita.
Very well captured Mary..Lovely shot.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Ron. It is a pleasure to feed them and get a shot once in a while.

Fantastic bird image and he's so cute
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Aussie. They are sweet little birds and quite showy in other seasons.
Great image Mary, I din't know how you do it, no really.
Mary MacADNski: What do you mean, Chad?
Beautiful picture, perfect. And a fine specimen of a bird. It has a very sharp peak and a very beautiful plumage.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks you, Valentin. You can tell right away by it's beak that it is from the finch family.

Le da las gracias, Valentín. Usted puede decir de inmediato por su pico que es de la familia Finch.
What a beautiful little bird Mary, how lucky you were for it to stay still long enough to photograph it.
Mary MacADNski: Their bellies were full, Brian.
your pics are really awesome ! smile
Mary MacADNski: How awesome of you to say that, Devavrat. Thank you.
Lovely capture Mary
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Pamela.

Mary MacADNski: S/he is.
I like this shot. He seems to be cocking his head slightly and looking at you.
Mary MacADNski: It may be saying, "Fill the Feeders!"
