Looks like he is admiring himself - the story of the Ugly Duckling comes to mind! Good picture.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Ingrid. I may crop it to improve it. I sometimes don't notice these things till they are here on display.
Wonderful capture with this reflection Mary!

Love it.

The youngster is getting a first glimpse of itself and thinks it is a chick it could get the hots for...is he in for a surprise!
Mary MacADNski: It's a problem all over the bird world on rainy days.
Great reflection Mary and the bonus is the reflection of another bird at the top.
Mary MacADNski: I had another shot showing the other bird but had cut off this one's feet. Had to choose only one. thanks, Brian.
A lovely capture Mary. They have attractive markings when they are youngsters.
Mary MacADNski: Thank you. A lot of people do not like gulls but I find them very beautiful.
Looking in a mirror, excellent Mary.
Mary MacADNski: Must be a teenage girl...
Mirror mirror in the water,
who is the fairest? I oughta
be the best. The camera's right
it never lies, I'm bestest bright.
Mary MacADNski: I would say hes is very pleased. Thanks for the poetry - a unique comment.
These birds get everywhere Mary, a good reflection as well, well spotted.
Mary MacADNski: They are probably known most everywhere in the world. Thanks, Les.
Fine reflection shot Mary
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Bill.
The reflections in this one are really outstanding, Mary. I like the small bit of circular ripple coming from his dripping beak which is then enclosed in the larger one.
Mary MacADNski: A few months back I had a gull in very ripply water. It was from this same place.
I see 3 birds here. One one in the foreground and her reflection and another bird reflection the background in the water. Lovely shot MAry!
Mary MacADNski: Thanks Delia. I have another shot showing the other bird but I cut off this bird's legs. Had to choose only one.

This is quite stunning. I like the inclusion of the reflection of the upper bird that isn't in your frame.
Mary MacADNski: I was thinking that reflection should be cropped out but some do like it. Thanks, sherri.

As you are into photography, I thought that you may be interested in a monthly blog posting called “5 on the fifth” where You can either take 5 random pictures of anything that happens to you on the 5th of the month (or the days leading up to it) or perhaps go for my suggested theme.

Just post your pictures on your own blog and then post a comment on MY blog with your name, location and link to your site – I then update the entry so the world has your link. Remember to mention my blog on your own blog so that your visitors get to see the other contributions.

Here’s a link to my blog:
