I've been reporting that our snow has disappeared. Tomorrow (I'm writing this at almost 8 pm (your midnight) we are expecting a storm (ha, ha) of 10 - 15 cm and heavy winds.
We are accustomed to having several 'snow days' per winter with school closed and everything else closed or canceled. So far we've had none and people are dying for a proper storm and a 'snow day'. I work at 6:30 pm and would love to have a shift off.
The music is from Islander, Catherine MacLellan, who knows what a snow day is all about. Catherine won many awards at the PEI Music awards recently and is the daughter of legendary Island songwriter Gene MacLellan who's song, Snow Bird, was made famous by Anne Murray.

I thought it was only in this country that everything shut down for the snow! It looks so pristine in your picture - lovely when it's like that, but it soon becomes tiresome.

Mary MacADNski: Snow doesn't shut us down. It's the wind. When there are heavy winds with the snow, blizzard conditions makes it too dangerous to be on the roads.
Did someone say Anne Murray??!! She will be singing at our wedding ceremnony, Mary!
Your image reminds me of my youth and those days eons ago when I saw snowdrifts like this. What a delightful, sunshiny day! I hope you get your 'snow day' off!
Mary MacADNski: Are you serious, Ginnie? Anne Murray in person? Here it is morning and the snow wasn't as heavy as predicted but it's not over and the wind hasn't begun.
You've got much more snow than my image today, Mary! I thought that it was just the UK where everything stopped for a few flakes of snow! At least you get a good dump by the sound of it. Thanks for the music; I remember "Snow Bird".
Mary MacADNski: This shot is from last year. We've had very little snow this year. The snowfall yesterday gave us 10 -15 cm. When it gets light out I'll be able to see if the overnight winds gave us any sculptures.
Having a shift off from the cruel slave driver boss, only means you are going to do glass work. Shift off then means you only shifted your work focus
You catcha my drift, like I think your snow drift makes a great picture.
Mary MacADNski: I don't have a window commission this year but am in the midst of three paintings and, yes I spent an hour or so with them. The best part of a snow day is the holiday feel of it even if you can't get anywhere.
