If I were asked to pick an image that represents winter, I would pick this one without any hesitation, Ms. "Mary". Truly a delight.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, VZ. Bird feeding is one of winter's delights with the birds and the watchers each receiving benefits.

These birds know a good thing when they see it...even the cats are well behaved here.
Mary MacADNski: The cats are well trained. They are out there with the birds right now and will not harm a feather.
wow, sooo many birds, Mary. they look quite happy smile
Mary MacADNski: I think they are pleased with the menu selection.

With all the snow, low visibility etc - they know when food is on the table.
I agree that this is a real winter shot.
Mary MacADNski: Many people feed the birds and they take their meals at each house. One of the joys of winter.

breed them tough over there
Mary MacADNski: The people too, Zed.
They seem being queuing for food. Lovely winter image Mary!
Mary MacADNski: They travel in flocks of 50 or so and keep flitting back and forth to the feeder from the trees. They are very busy and active.
It snowed here in the night and the roads are a nightmare. This is a lovely picture of the birds in the garden.
Mary MacADNski: I'm glad I finally have a day off. Hope you get a snow day, meaning a day off due to snow.
Wow! What a view from the kitchen window. Your camera must work overtime.
Mary MacADNski: It does. I had to send it for repair before the warranty was out. Overuse, I think.
Wow! I am struggling to get one bird at my feeders. Might be something to do with the Sparrowhawk I saw in the garden last week lol
Mary MacADNski: That could do it. LOL I use 100% black oil sunflower seeds. That will bring all birds. I find they won't come for mixed seed.
wow, looks like a fairy tale landscape, chapeaux
Mary MacADNski: Faceva caldo quel giorno, ma ora č molto freddo.

They love you to death, Ms. Mary. You're both lucky. smile
Mary MacADNski: I love them to death too, Ginnie.
Wow...that's some snow!
Mary MacADNski: Would you like some?
They were hungry and the cold. Birds are beautiful and hard.
Mary MacADNski: I keep the feeders filled for the benefit of bot the birds and the bird watcher - me.

Sigo los alimentadores cubiertos para el beneficio de los bot los pájaros y el observador de aves - a mí.
A lovely sight to see on a cold day Mary...Hope you kept the pussy cats in !
Mary MacADNski: I have trained the cats not to bother the birds. The birds know this so can land right beside the cats with no fears.
How is it everybody gets cute little birds on their tables and I get magpies and crows! lovely shot and view from your kitchen.
Mary MacADNski: I absolutely love crows and get lots of them. After the stories I heard in AU about magpies I would not want them.
This is truly adorable, Mary. I love that touch of red on the feeder and the soft pastel feeling of the whole scene.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Beverly. I love to watch the birds and it provides entertainment for the kitties as well.
A fantasy picture Mary. I love all those birds.
Mary MacADNski: I love watching them too.
You are certainly popular with them Mary. A lovely shot.
Mary MacADNski: They've been coming to this house for twenty-five years and know where they are well fed.
It's party time!!!
Mary MacADNski: Bring on the birdseed....
Great shot Mary, the snow has obviously caught up with you at last.
Mary MacADNski: Finally, we got some but bitterly cold temps followed. I want to get out on my snowshoes so it has to warm up.
some happy birds there Mary, nice capture
Mary MacADNski: They are pleased that someone is feeding them lunch.
Are we both too "chicken" to get out there- posting kitchen window shots?! Yours beats mine easily- this is a real classic winter view.
Mary MacADNski: Oh, I was out. It's hard to keep me indoors. I was in because I wanted to have the birds come and act naturally. When I'm outside only the chickadees and nuthatches will come close. The goldfinches stayed in the trees until I came inside.
A lovely busy picture, what attracted my eye straight away was the bird flying in top right hand corner, makes it very real and now.
Mary MacADNski: It is real and a delight to watch them.
