Sunrise Over Ice

We've had bitterly cold temperatures over the past week that arrived a couple of days after the snowfall. I don't get sunrises from my home but have worked some overnight shifts recently that have afforded me some nice views.

The light on the ice is sublime. Great shot, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: Looking at this shot brings back the extreme cold. It's a wonder the shutter didn't shudder and refuse to move.

What a warm sky and what a cold ground smile the colours speak for themselves.
Mary MacADNski: It was extremely cold, bone-chilling and finger-freezing cold

This really is a lovely sunrise Mary and what a foreground with that frozen water.

I hope your night shifts have not been too traumatic, Mary; it;s certainly our gain. I love the lighting in this and especially the colours across the snow.
Mary MacADNski: No trauma at all. This is not snow but ice on the Hillsborough River that travels through Charlottetown.
