photoblog image Morning in Melville

Morning in Melville

On my way to my friend's house last week this was the view of a pond near her place.  We'd had snow overnight and they'd closed the schools.  This was shot at 11:43 am. and in full colour. Tomorrow's show will show the same pond on the way back home after lunch.  The difference will amaze you.

This is a beautiful scene, Mary.

I wait for my promised amazement...

[grin]
Mary MacADNski: I guess amazement is a strong word. your photos amaze, not mine.
Mary!!! What a scene! hard to believe there is any color here wink it is really lovely. the snow has coated everything and is so thick in the branches. it is really beautiful....looking forward to the follow up
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Charles. Snow can be very beautiful when it does not have to be shoveled. I think you will like tomorrow's shot.

Absolutely stunning Mary
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, zed. I was compelled to stop to shoot this.
This shot amazes me, it is so beautiful. And so cold looking.
Mary MacADNski: It wasn't that cold but certainly snowy. Schools were canceled for the day.
The snow really wipes out the colour Mary. When we had snow for a week I felt that I was getting colour withdrawal.
Mary MacADNski: That's why the snowbound appreciate the bright flowers from the other side of the world. I surround myself in colour inside with the paonts but believe it or not, I'm painting a snow scene.

Had you not said Mary - I would have thought this fine composition to be b&w!
Mary MacADNski: I mentioned it just for that reason, Chris. It certainly shows a lack of colour.
Life in B&W! A lovely capture Mary.
Mary MacADNski: This is full colour but black and white.

Great capture almost a white out
Mary MacADNski: It is so white/grey that it really looks like a B/W but it's in full colour.

Saw today's post first, and paged back out of curiosity. Looks like a B & W shot here. Both the shot and the change are amazing.
Mary MacADNski: There is quite a difference in three hours. It begged to be shown.
Wonderfull, really!
Mary MacADNski: Hello, old friend. Glad to see you here.
Absolutly beautiful image.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Misty Dawn. Did you check out the next image to see what a couple hours did to the scene?
