photoblog image Frosty Morning in September

Frosty Morning in September

In September we had a very early hard frost. I went out to check the garden and posted some frosty sunflowers from that time.

The sunlight, playing over there in the trees, is quite beautiful, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: I don't get a great sunrise view but when the sun came, it brought along a beautiful day.

To celebrate the beginning at the end.

(With your old spikes you can walk now smile)
Mary MacADNski: This is exactly the weather we've been having. An early spring! Today was day 13 of sunny weather and it will continue. Perfect weather for maple syrup production. Above zero every day and below zero at night.

Mary MacADNski: It was! I was in a robe!

LOvely I like the sun light reaching out to warm every thing
Mary MacADNski: It did just that. It was sunny days and a frosty morning. That's exactly the weather we've been having. An early spring! Today was day 13 of sunny weather and it will continue.
at first I thought is was a lavender field...
Mary MacADNski: Sadly, no. A very early frost instead.

I like the long shadows from the very low angle of the sun. An illusion of warmth but probably no more than that.
Mary MacADNski: It was very cold so the warmth was, as you said, an illusion. We rarely see this kind of heavy frost so early in the season. We are now enjoying an early spring to make up for this early frost last fall.
Really lovely with the sunlight play Mary!
Mary MacADNski: We don't have a great view of the morning sun but it comes finally and what a change it will make during that day!
I feel cold just looking at it. very evocative.
Mary MacADNski: It was very cold! It was a strange morning. We rarely see this kind of heavy frost so early in the season.

I love the contrast between the grass and the sun hitting the trees. Nice shot.
Mary MacADNski: We rarely see this kind of heavy frost so early in the season. It was cold....
Lovely light and shadows Mary, very nice
Mary MacADNski: It was awesome though many people would have lost crops if not prepared.
You can see the sun was warming the area's where the ray's caught the ground. Beautiful shot Mary.
Mary MacADNski: We rarely see this kind of heavy frost so early in the season. Ha, we are now having an early spring to make up for it.
Lovely shot, Mary - the bands of sunlight are lovely.
Mary MacADNski: It was so unusual to see this early frost. I'm sure other photographers captured it. It was a beautiful hot day after that and the day before.

l used to love the crunching sound of the frosty grass, but it never used to get as cold as where you live does Mary
Mary MacADNski: We've had wonderful daytime temps and frosty mornings for the last few weeks. Perfect weather for maple syrup production. Not me, just sayin'.
I like the early morning low sun on the background and the detail in the frozen grass.
Mary MacADNski: I like that detail in the grass too when I think about being there. That's what I liked the best.
does look cold..
nice job
Mary MacADNski: Perhaps if I'd been wearing more than a robe....
