photoblog image Boards of Ontario

Boards of Ontario

I always manage to discover old buildings, even on vacation.  I got a few shots of this one but posted only one when I returned a year ago.

Click to Play:

Johnny Cash - Four Strong Winds

We do see boards on An Island Walk.  We adore old houses.

I really go for pictures like this, Mary...I think it is the textures and grains in the weathered wood that appeals most.
Mary MacADNski: All full of character, Ray. Here is the whole building:

With buildings like this there is always an interesting play of light and shade, shapes and textures. Very nice, lots to look at.

maybe a bit more contrast would have been nice
Mary MacADNski: I don't do post processing, Chantal. What you see is what you get with me.

It's barely staying up Mary!
Mary MacADNski: Here is the whole building. It has a stone foundation:

Well seen, mary. Yes, they are an inspiration with the weather-beaten timbers and general air of neglect.
Mary MacADNski: It's the character it gives off, I think. I love them!
I'm sure if this building were to be dismantled, Mary, there would be some pretty nifty boards to be salvaged.

Great shot!
Mary MacADNski: I would want to be there but it is in Ontario. I have a use for barnboard.
Lovely! I like the textures in the wood, and the play of shadow and light! Well done!
Mary MacADNski: I had only moments here but could have spent an hour.
Love the light coming through the knot holes in the shaded area Mary..I can imagine a few pictures from this old building.
Mary MacADNski: I love old buildings so much.
Love the driftwood colour of the timber Mary
Mary MacADNski: This is about my favorite colour.
I love it.
Mary MacADNski: I am happy you do, Michael.
