photoblog image Peace On the Water

Peace On the Water

I came upon a fisherman in a canoe and a pair of geese sharing a pond. I wouldn't want to share a pond with geese at this time of year as they can be very territorial and aggressive.  It was peaceful so far from what I witnessed.

The fisherman is watching closely, in case some macho geeso muscles over to him and whacks a hole in his craft with a mighty wing beat.
Mary MacADNski: He'd better be watching closely. I think he's being foolish to tell you the truth.
It does look very peaceful
Mary MacADNski: Looks scary to me.

Agreed Mary: they can get very territorial in the breeding season - geese not fishermen!
Mary MacADNski: I'm terrified of them during this season and actually think this guy is bonkers.
you have to love fishing, but if you do it is a nice place to sit and wonder of
Mary MacADNski: My son is an avid fisherman.

Ancient proverb "man with rod in hand beat crap out of angry Geese" smile
Mary MacADNski: I hope the rod is srtong enough. I'd say the geese have the advantage here.
It seems a great place to be alone.
Mary MacADNski: I'd be terrified with a pair of setting geese that near.

It appears that everyone lives in peaceful coexistence, Mary! (LOL at Zed!)
Mary MacADNski: Honestly I hoped he had something stronger than a rod when I saw the scene. It does look like it's ok.
Often when I see your pictures, I envy the calm is on them. Your look is very quiet, and that's something that in these times, I appreciate it.
Mary MacADNski: Gracias, Valentin. It is a calm and quiet lifestyle here and I appreciate it very much.

Es un estilo de vida tranquilo y silencioso aquí y se lo agradezco mucho.

I am not a fisherman but he makes it looks like a good thing to do
Mary MacADNski: I'm not either but my youngest son is an avid one.

Very nice picture, I would suggest a crop of about 3 centimeters from the bottom to make the composition so much stronger. Too much (useless) water in the shot now.
Mary MacADNski: That would make a great crop.
I expect he had some some strategy for dealing with things if they got out of control. Let's hope peace rules. Well captured Mary
Mary MacADNski: Yes, it looks so peaceful but I would not be comfortable there.
A lovely shot Mary, this would fit in with my cameras clubs e-group subject this month of a Rural Scene, at least one image of which we are required to email to each other.
Mary MacADNski: My life is rural scene. Every view around me....
Peace and calm for all by the looks of it. I like the way he is tied to the post to stop floating offsmile
Mary MacADNski: I loved the look but would not be the one in that boat with the pair of geese so close.
A pleasant scene Mary..He is in his element relaxing.
Mary MacADNski: It was a wonderful scene to come apon, Ron.

If you watch closely you will see that the geese tied the man to the stump in the water. They propped him upright in the boat to look alive and in the hope to catch a female human.

Brrrr. This modern 'Geese against Honk Whistles' movement is really organised.

Your 'View of an Untrapped Woman' is a great one.
Mary MacADNski: Ha ha!When I saw him he was in a superior composition but had turned his back to me by the time I was stopped enough to get a shot.
