photoblog image Fluke

Fluke

This out of focus shot shows only the hint of a blue jay's wings.  I am amazed that this had been captured even though the photo as a whole is terrible. Both the bird and I were moving and this result is a fluke.

It's a cool "mistake"--I like the blur of the wings...
Mary MacADNski: I loved it when I saw it, out of focus and all.

"Hint of Blue Jay"...sounds like a perfume...or, the imagined quality of a dry white wine...
Mary MacADNski: They are our Provincial Bird and they are never a hint - till now. They are loud and in your face, though shy. Kind of a weird bird, actually.

Hahaha - isn't photography wonderful Mary!
Mary MacADNski: Oh, what we can see with a camera..... Then there's photoshop. I don't even have an introduction to it but since I've seen it used, will now never believe what I see on paper.

not bad for a reflex shot Mary smile
Mary MacADNski: That's just what it was. I was getting out of a chair when I saw the blue jay. Pure reflex.

A nice fluke result smile

It is for a fluke that we are who we are.
Mary MacADNski: Isn't that the truth, Louis. I'm a fluke, you're a fluke, everyone a fluke, fluke.
Very ephemeral.
Mary MacADNski: un to find it amongst the thumbnails. I liked it.
An accidental fabulous result Mary!
Mary MacADNski: Fun to find in the thumbnails.
Fantastic Mary. You have created a delightful and slightly mystifying image.
Mary MacADNski: Funday Monday
the ghost has just left
Mary MacADNski: Flew the scene.
Ah! So that's what it is - I thought it was smoke from the bowl!
Mary MacADNski: No, just the ghost of a blue jay.

I first thought it was smoke good work Mary
Mary MacADNski: It's the smoke from the bird.
Its quite accidentally spooky Marysmile
Mary MacADNski: You're right. Purely accidental.
This has an eerie and almost supernatural feel to it, Mary. Sort of reminds me of those old photos where you see a ghost-like wisp hovering somewhere in the image.
Mary MacADNski: My photography skills are not much more modern than that to tell the truth. A fun result though.
Ha..Either the bird was to fast..or you were to slow!..but it has captured the faint ghostly shape there Mary..An interesting shot.
Mary MacADNski: I think we both had a hand in it, Ron. I like the result.
You should have claimed it was totally planned and we would have marvelled at your artistic effort. I like it anywaysmile
Mary MacADNski: Ha ha, theat's your trick is it? Lol
certainly a fortunate capture!
Mary MacADNski: A fluke but a good one, Charles.
It reminds me of Matisse's paintings.
Mary MacADNski: That is fascinating.
