photoblog image Iona Field

Iona Field

There was a suggestion in yesterday's comments that I should follow a crop from beginning to end.  I did that two summers ago with a potato crop.

This shot shows the beginning of a grain crop with blueberries the reddish crop in the left field along with some winter grain.  I don't know what either grain field is but the type will be evident later in the season.  I found out today that soybeans will be the crop grown beside me so I will follow that field too.

We are big fans of the various fields we see on An Island Walk.

I love your agriscapes, Mary...looking forward to the growing/harvesting season in PEI.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Ray. I shoot what I like. I work in the city and rarely take a shot unless it is of a garden or tree in a park.

Mary MacADNski: I actually said that in answering some comments. I sometimes think I am in heaven.

Blueberries? WOW. I've never seen them in a field like that, Mary. I just got my education. smile
Mary MacADNski: That is a very small field. We are a huge blueberry producer and have some really huge fields.
Its so nice to follow the fields from planting to harvest, and to see all the changing colours from fresh hint to lush growth.
Mary MacADNski: I will try my best but it should be easy as I drive this road quite often.

This has very much the feel of spring Mary: I'm sure it will all grow in no time at all
Mary MacADNski: If it warms up, Chris. It is extremely cold and dry this May.
What a wonderful pastoral scene Mary!
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Richard.

So pastoral...lovely rolling hills
Mary MacADNski: It is heaven on earth, Bonnie.
That sounds like an interesting project to me Mary, I shall watch through the summer with great interest. I like this rolling countryside BTW.
Mary MacADNski: I love the fields in this lovely rolling landscape. Some days I wonder if I am in heaven.
Its all happening Mary..waiting for the sunshine.
Mary MacADNski: We are having a very, very cold May. It will probably break records. Most unusual. Most unusual, as well, was our extremely warm April. Crazy weather!
nice,
great lines.
Mary MacADNski: It's all about the lines when comes to fields. I love fields.
Its good to see it all change colour and grow, it will be interesting to see how quickly it all growssmile
Mary MacADNski: If it doesn't warm up soon, it is not going to grow at all. This is the coldest May ever. Never before has April been warmer than May.
This is exactly how I remember the Prince Edward Island countryside, Mary. Just lovely.
Mary MacADNski: You must come back for a visit, Beverly.
lovely rural scene, Mary smile
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Charles.
Nice idea, Mary - I look forward to the series!
Mary MacADNski: The potato series two summers ago was interesting too.

Oh, Blueberry Hill!

Photographically thinking, I first thought - how the heck do you follow a crop ... then I realised it is not about cropping the picture smile
Mary MacADNski: Ha, my laugh for the weekend, Louis

Wow, very nicely done, you can see how delicate these newly planted sedlings are. I am really curious to see more. Lovely pastoral scene!
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Marion. I am enthralled with fields and show them a lot.
