Going, Going

A number of you are familiar with this abandoned structure that I have shown over the years.  I was by last week and got a recent shot.  The house is really caving in on itself and the back section has collapsed. One of these times I will arrive to a pile of rubble.

We often return to familiar sites on An Island Walk.

Its is getting even more attractive as it implodes, Mary...possible that this is partly due to your increasing skills with your camera.
Mary MacADNski: I love this location. I had a different camera with the first shot. I should have linked the first photo I showed here so you could make a comparison:

I wouldn't get to close to it...
Mary MacADNski: Only once did I gingerly approach more closely, scared of both nails and snakes. I am happy to stay at a distance now. I should have linked the first photo I showed here so you could make a comparison:

oh wow, Mary. this is just a terrific shot. it almost looks like it is getting sucked into the ground!
Mary MacADNski: I've been taking shots of this building for years. I should have linked the first photo I showed here so you could make a comparison:

Agree with Charles, marvelous picture! The implosion has a lot of tension to it. I'm amazed that there are still intact window panes!
Mary MacADNski: I too am amazed at the window panes. I should have linked the first photo I showed here so you could make a comparison:

It looks very precarious now Mary!
Mary MacADNski: It is really falling in. I expect the next time I get there it will be more collapsed just from gravity. I should have linked the first photo I showed here so you could make a comparison:

Looks a bit like it was taken with a fisheye lens
Mary MacADNski: I see what you mean but it is just the straight on shot. I should have linked the first photo I showed here so you could make a comparison:

The more it is collapsing, the more beautiful it is.
Great capture mary!
Mary MacADNski: I think it is very beautiful too, Richard. I really love these old wooden buildings I find. I should have linked the first photo I showed here so you could make a comparison:

Yes, it has that hanging on by the skin of it's teeth look. Good angle.

I remember it well. Not going to be around much longer!
Mary MacADNski: It really is going fast now.
Yep..a strong gust of wind Mary..then go back for some more shots. You've caught this well..It does show the delicate position its in.
Mary MacADNski: I'll show the back some day.
It's like something from an Alfred Hitchcock film Mary.
Mary MacADNski: I love it truly.

A dollhouse ... Surprising !!
Mary MacADNski: Going soon.
I thought it was just an example of modern architecture, Mary smile
Mary MacADNski: Not recent anyway.
Makes a dramatic picture. It seems such a shame though that places should be left to rot like this.
Mary MacADNski: It happens sometimes. I know of others.
Nice to keep a record of its passing. Almost like 'time lapse' It looks like really good subject matter. Good shot.
Mary MacADNski: I just checked out your website. You are a very impressive photographer. Consider me a fan.
Another great composition, I like the perspective. A bientôt VAL smile
Mary MacADNski: I've been taking shots of this house for a few years watching it's progress toward the earth.

I love the shot Mary, i guess that it's the price you pay for Island Clay...peter smile
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Peter. There are shots of this old building going back through the archives. I have loved following it's demise. We had a huge windstorm last week so I should go down to see if it is still standing.
Looks a giant came by, and just ripped this house apart, fantastic destruction.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks so much, Claus. I have been recording the demise of this house for a couple of years. It is time to take another trip by.
