photoblog image Tulips Lying Low

Tulips Lying Low

I picked this bouquet of tulips at about 7:30 one morning of a day off last week.  I had the camera with me and got lost in an adventure. In the middle of house cleaning just before noon, I remembered the bunch of flowers lying on the lawn. I gave them a big cold drink and they seemingly suffered no harm.

Days off are wonderful things on An Island Walk.  We really want one soon.

Your lucky to be able to grow these beautiful flowers Mary, no hope here even if l didn't have black thumbs
Mary MacADNski: One thing that would work would be to force them to bloom inside. You plant them in pots and refrigerate for four or five months. Take them out of the fridge and they will bloom in the pots.

They actually look very healthy lying there Mary
Mary MacADNski: They had just been cut at this time. I went off to apple trees and cats and birds etc and forgot them there.
A senior moment Mary? grin
Mary MacADNski: One of many. How many moments are in an hour?
This is one of those pictures that I call enlarge-able, frame-able and hang-able. Or greetings card material.
It is so gorgeous that I wouldn't want to let it go and get lost in the archives. .
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Sheila. Those are kind words.

I wish I could grow the here, saddly the weather is to warm good colours Mary
Mary MacADNski: You will have to get some bulbs and force them for indoor blooming. Easy to do and it would work.
I'm glad to hear no harm was done. A good drink works wonders. Beautiful shiny tulips Mary
Mary MacADNski: They were perfectly fine and I was so glad about that.
A lovely selection of colours, Mary - and a nice compo.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Tom.
Nice to hear that there was no harm Mary, they are so beautiful!
Mary MacADNski: I was amazed that they came back after a bit of time in the cold water.
Very nice selection of colours Mary.
Mary MacADNski: The purple ones are in great abundance in the garden.

Mary MacADNski: Yes they are easily recognizable. They are so pretty in a vase.
