Mary MacADNski: Of course it does. That's why kids do it. It has been happening here forever but for liability issues the govt. has to place signs. It is not enforced.

Wow, what a daredevil!! I hope the water was deep enough where she lands. It looks like very shallow water.
Mary MacADNski: It's a deep channel and perfectly safe. All the kids had their turns over and over and over. They make an afternoon out of it.

I think the sign says no diving
Mary MacADNski: The govt. has to put signs up for liability issues but no one ever does anything. We have several spots like this. Better than smoking crack on corners.
Kids will be kids, so they say. But this looks like an accident waiting to happen. This lot obviously can't read!

You've caught it exactly right, Mary. The girl jumping and the boy with his hand on the sign.

Timeless. This is what children will do when there is a bridge over water. The sign says no diving, so they will jump.
Mary MacADNski: The jumping is safe enough. It's just that the kids are walking and standing on the bridge which has traffic. Just for liability issues, the govt. has to place signs.

Summertime - isn't it wonderful when there is a place to cool off? Great shot! I don't think I would have had the courage to do this at her age...a few years later though I did lots of things that were lots of fun and probably prohibited. I guess most kids choose not to read the signs when cool water beckons!
