photoblog image What You Find On the Beach

What You Find On the Beach

I went to the beach on Sunday with my visiting grandchildren.  A photographer and a bride and groom were at one end of the beach getting some staged shots.  As the party were leaving, I thought this look from someone arriving at the beach was priceless.

She must have thought she was sleepwalking right into a dream smile
Mary MacADNski: The groom was walking a bit back with the photographer. Maybe the woman thought the bride had just been jilted.
Fellini-esque!
Mary MacADNski: You never know what you're going to see.

In Australia, Mary, that look is known as "gawking" and it is appropriate if the gawker stands in fresh dog poo with her next step.

[grin]
Mary MacADNski: Now I would have loved to get a photo of that! It is called gawking here too.

Text for the lady on the left....wow where did her groom go, cold feet already??
Great shot, one of a lifetime.

Exactly Mary: you don't really expect to see a bride on a beach!
Mary MacADNski: Not on a Sunday. There are lots of wedding photos taken at the beach but usually the day of and with the rest of the party.

LOL at the other comments. I'm sure she wished she had her camera, especially when she next saw YOU there in front of her. grin
Mary MacADNski: I loved the surprised look!
Wonderful Mary!!
Mary MacADNski: They were there an hour or so getting staged shots.

Just the usual beach wear l suppose smile
Mary MacADNski: Only for new brides who can't bear to take the dress off.
Very well spotted Mary, and well done for cathing that look. I would probably look like that too. Gawking in Australia, Gawping or Gaping in English, Just plain surprised will do.
Mary MacADNski: LOL It was pretty strange, really. I would imagine the wedding was the day before or even yet to come.

I think I would be doing the same
Congratulations for catching this short moment in time at just the right moment Mary.
This shot is so amusing, Mary. A great catch with her making a getaway and the lady watching her go.
I love it when there is a wedding party being photographed where I am. I'm afraid I'm a bit of a buttinski and have gotten quite a few candid shots of perfect strangers on their big day.
Seriously!! I couldn't stop laughing for 5 minutes!! This is totally priceless indeed Mary!!! The somewhat plump pose of the bride, and that lady looking at the scene as if she never watched a bride before. Brilliant!! Really brilliant!!
"There are times when white is NOT the right colour" smile
How bizzare Mary.
Lovely scene, well seen Mary.
A+ VAL smile

The shot is just priceless as you said....and i am not sure if the gawker is as surprised to see the bride on the beach as to the size of the bride on the beach.....by the way love the lupins in the background....with all of that white you needed some colour....petersmile smile

It's not the usual beach scene that's for sure.

(I was looking for your cats.. I guess you're still busy sad)
Mary MacADNski: The extreme busyness has just ended. I'm now working 6 days a week rather than 7. Kitties are here and will make an appearance this weekend.
:-D Priceless indeed
Mary MacADNski: Could be titled The Gawker.
