photoblog image Finished Field in Mist

Finished Field in Mist

Most of the grain fields were harvested before the storm.

I saw combines and trucks using their headlights

late the night before the hurricane.

We've had great harvests this year in Prince Edward Island.

I love stubbled fields like this...they smell great for a couple of days after the harvest, too.
Mary MacADNski: The smell is something else all together.

I think we've had a goods one too Mary: is that mist?
Mary MacADNski: It was early morning mist in a hot, hot humid, humid time. It burned off quickly each morn and turned to steam. Then a hurricane came, ruined some things and brought cooler temperatures.

Lovely golden fields Mary
I adore that mist just hanging there.
Mary MacADNski: It's lovely out and about in the morning.
What a wonderful image with the mist in mid-air! I really like the tones.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks so much, Richard.

Love the feeling of the mist! Captures the mood. Nice color, too.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Bonnie. It burned off and the heat came to drench us.
Lovely, I like the mist a lot!! Gorgeous colours
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, It seems like a month ago but is only 2 weeks. I'm always a week behind.
Lovely. I always enjoy harvest time.
Mary MacADNski: It's gorgeous, always.
I just love that layer of slight mist Mary.
Mary MacADNski: It was so hot and humid at that time. Semms long ago.
Lovely, Mary - that would turn into a nice abstract landscape, I think smile
Mary MacADNski: Very much so, Tom. Those kinds of thoughts are much in my mind.

I can just imagine the farmers working all hours to get the crop in before the weather turned. Your music choice is very appropriate today.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks very much , Alan. I appreciate that.
You have a fantastic harvest on Prince Edward Island smile
Mary MacADNski: It was very good! Nothing for farmers to complain about. A first!

It has been the same here over the weekend with the fields very busy into the small hours to beat the change in the weather this week. Very atmospheric image.
Mary MacADNski: It's funny. I'm always a week behind on SC. The hurricane was a week ago or more but I'm just getting around to that time. It was so hot during this photo series and that was before the storm. We are cooler now and I am putting up flower pictures. Whew!

Is that dust or mist?

Beautiful landscape.
Mary MacADNski: This is early morning mist but could easily be mistaken for dust. I have some images of that from this harvest too.
That looks really autumnal, and brings to mind the Keats poem.
What a very satisfying sight. Job done. Like a punctuation mark in the yearly cycle. (:o)
Mary MacADNski: Yes, they were working overtime that week before the hurricane.
I like the sweeping lines.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Nigel. I feel the heat when I see this.
