photoblog image Fog Layers

Fog Layers

A twiddled shot from me for a change.  I pressed the 'I Feel Lucky' button on Picasa.  A layer of mist disappeared and everything got brighter, especially the golden grass.

Twiddle or no...its still gorgeous, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Ray. It was more realistic without the twiddle. Thanks so much, Ray.

Twiddle more Mary: this is good!
Mary MacADNski: It is more dramatic but not as real. The bright golden grass does not look real as the tone and texture have been altered. The more dramatic look is ok though, I guess.
Ooh Mary, you little rebel! Picasa worked well for you with image, I just love the contast between the grass and the rest of the image. (:o)
Mary MacADNski: I think Picasa changed the texture a lot on the grass. It no longer looks like grass. Also the grass was not that bright in real life. Kind of ruins it for me but.....

still looks good even though you know what it really looked like. think you 'got lucky'
Mary MacADNski: It certainly changes the textures and contrast, that one button.
beautiful picture!
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, jojo.
Well twiddled ! smile
Mary MacADNski: Ha! I'm a one button wonder!
Well done you for having a little twiddle with Picassa, I hope you had fun doing it. I like it.
Mary MacADNski: I pressed one button and save as.
Experimentation can be very rewarding, Mary, as we can see here. Would love to see the original image just for comparison.
Mary MacADNski: I would imagine you would all like the higher contrast with this one.
The colours really stand out, your twiddle worked well. I do love the fog layers smile
Mary MacADNski: The twiddle made it brighter than it really was but it's good to see it differently and more dramatic.
Love the layers of mist in the background.
Mary MacADNski: It has been pretty these misty mornings.

I love the layers, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Jennie. I do too.
Another shot with good atmosphere Mary.
Mary MacADNski: That was the theme for the last few days. Soon that mist will be frost.
Brillian, Mary - the first time I used that function on Picassa it cleared up my Athens picture (http://tomwilson.shutterchance.com/photoblog/Athens_and_the_acropolis_from_the_Lykavittos_Hill_/) - before it cleared things the foreground was a misty as the strip at the top!
Mary MacADNski: Exactly. This is not as realistic as it makes it look much brighter than it was.
The thing is if you haven't seen it as it was then it is real. The camera doesn't see as we do anyway so a little enhancement to produce a pleasing image like this is fine by me
Mary MacADNski: It is bright for a misty morning this way - not as realistic. It's ok but not real.
I like the layered effect and colour contrast.
Mary MacADNski: The button certainly boosted the contrast.

You pressed a good button great result Mary
Mary MacADNski: Thanks. It is awfully bright for a misty morning this way - not as realistic.
Very dramatic, I hope you also show us the other picture so we can compare.

I love the layers of mist, it isn't something we see here because it's too flat
Mary MacADNski: You all would like this one, I'm sure. More drama!
This worked very well indeed Mary
Mary MacADNski: Thanks for that, Pamela.
