Queen's Road

It's been a while since I've shown a derelict building.  They draw me for some reason.

I don't know how you keep coming up with these great subjects and you do such a fabulous job presenting them to us......keep it up Mary....petersmile
Mary MacADNski: I've lots of old buildings in the archives. They are a favorite subject.

I totally understand Mary. This one is beautiful and well captured.
Mary MacADNski: The collapse has happened only in the last while. I finally had to stop.
Wow! Great stuff!
Mary MacADNski: I have lots of these old derelicts in my archives.
That one is certainly past the point of no return. Good angle
Mary MacADNski: It's not that long ago either that two old bachelors lived in this.

A great subject. Wonderful shot.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Shaun. I have lots of old abandoned building shots in my archives.
I am also drawn to houses like this. I drive by a haunted house everyday on my way to work and the other day I mentioned to my husband that I wanted to photograph that house and he says it is bad luck..hmmmm.... I think he said it so we wouldn't stop by. One of these days I will get the courage and photography the abandon haunted house. It makes your mind wonder to who lived there and how and why the house is now like this! Fabulous shot!
Mary MacADNski: I know the feeling. I have several old abandoned houses in my archives. They are one of my favorite subjects.

Buildings like this are so full of character, wonderful colours, love the tall grass.
Mary MacADNski: I love that fall grass very much as well. I think it's the best time for photos like this in some cases, like this one.
I suspect this one won't be standing much longer.
Mary MacADNski: I think the collapse has been in the last year or so but it's been empty for a long time.

Looks like some of the rental cottages I get, Mary! No, not really! What a shame that this has become a ruin; do you know why?
Mary MacADNski: Two old bachelor brother lived there I believe. They are now gone. I remember that their sheep were often on the road as they were not up with their fencing as they got older.

Wow this has history in it. I can see why you are drawn to this I would be too.
Mary MacADNski: They have such character.
It's very interesting how that becomes the ruin of wooden houses. Around here there are none and we're not used to this.
A greeting.
Mary MacADNski: There are many here. I am always drawn to photograph them.
Looks like it could be part of a movie set...some teen vampire / zombie flick smile
Mary MacADNski: I know of lots of them. I think they are so interesting. i explored them every chance I got when I was younger.
They make great subjects, don't they. Sad though.
Mary MacADNski: I have a pretty good collection of them. I love them!
me gusta la foto y la casa. podrías arreglarla con fotoshop y pasar unas vacaciones.....
Mary MacADNski: Yo no uso photoshop para cualquiera de mis fotografías.
