I hope it did not start talking to its shadow grin
Love spiders they are such a nice object to capture, you did great.
BTW was he making a web, I see the thin threads....
Mary MacADNski: His/her web was up in the corner of the house. This was just a visit to the bottom of my back door. The string is to find his way back. LOL

Warning please!

Aside from that - cool image
Mary MacADNski: My daughter does not like them either.
What a beauty!! I once was going out with a guy that loved spiders, and had the large ones, they use in the movies for pets. Mexican Redknee spiders. Fascinating creatures
Mary MacADNski: Here is a shot of one of these but it was huge. I used my friend's hand for scale:

Mary MacADNski: Hairy legs better to stick in your hair.

I've never seen a spider with those marking before; mind you, I try to give most a wide berth; especially foreign ones!
Mary MacADNski: I had a macro of one like this a few years ago:
http://justpictureit.shutterchance.com/photoblog/A_Fine_Meal_/
S/he looks rather largesmile Very good close up shot.
Mary MacADNski: It is not really that large. The shadow is larger.
Fantastic picture of my most un-favourite creature. My skin is crawling just looking at it.
Mary MacADNski: My daughter's would be too. She used to have me sweep the door at night.
Wow! What a fabulous macro. (:o)
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Rosalyn. I was amazed at the shadow.
