photoblog image Hill of Potato Hills

Hill of Potato Hills

This is a shot from June.  The potatoes crop in this field is poking through the ground of this misty field.  I like the angle of the land from where I am standing.

The song is just one I like and has no relation to the field or to myself.  Just a great song.  I mention this because there is usually some kind of reference between the song and photo. Just not this time.  Trent Reznor's song is perfect when sung by Johnny.

Darn it, Mary!

So good I swear I can smell the freshly turned soil...
Mary MacADNski: I love the soil - smell of it too.

the tilted angle makes the hill come out great
Mary MacADNski: I'm not tilted at all. It was very steep and planted sideways to prevent erosion. If you look at the ground it is level.
Mary I like this one, it brings to mind the joy I experience each year when the first potato shoots emerge in my veg. garden.
Mary MacADNski: PEI is full of potatoes - and grain. Pretty in all their changing seasons.

I like the lines and the mist in this. I can just image those fine tubers growing nicely under the soil.
Mary MacADNski: PEI is a big potato growing area.
Lovely lines and angles Mary, is that a hint of dust blowing up above the soil.
Mary MacADNski: This is a foggy mist in a morning field.

Very interesting geometry Mary: and the field is lightly steaming too!
Mary MacADNski: I like the steam. It's a bit more dramatic that way.
The mist line makes it, Mary. Well spotted.
Mary MacADNski: That's what it's all about, I think too. Thanks.
I love the smell of the ground!
