Compost Pumpkin

This old pumpkin could be floating today.  For three Mondays in a row we've had wind and rain warnings.  Today, Tuesday we are battling very heavy winds with trees down in some areas and had heavy rain overnight.  I have water in my basement due to it. What a day off!

No matter the wather there's a walk on An Island Walk.

The up-side is you don't have to go outdoors to spend an hour sailing your toy yacht, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: The toy yacht would become an airplane in this wind.

Sorry to hear of your predicament Mary. That's a very virile pumpkin there...
Mary MacADNski: That's why the other one is so far away.

Chris gave me a good laugh there Mary
Mary MacADNski: He is always good to laugh at.
So your Christmas preparations took another turn, sorry to hear that Mary!
Mary MacADNski: It has been wild, Pekka. I'm sure snow and freezing temps will return before long.

It's a wonderful image, Mary, but the story that goes with it is...unnerving, to be sure. Yes, LOL at Chris. Someone was bound to say it. Let's hope you do manage better than okay these coming days.
Mary MacADNski: The weather got very wild, Ginnie, and roads and bridges have washed out. Crazy weather!
I like this autumn-y shot. But I'm so sorry you have water in your basement. Good luck, and enjoy your day off even if it is not the way you planned it.
Mary MacADNski: Another day off and I'm having a dinner party.
Great image sorry to hear of your flood. We have more heavy snow this morning.
Mary MacADNski: We have a forecast of possible flurries on Christmas eve.

Days to remember.

Your description is almost like what you indicated about the neighbours, last week. I hope the water in the basement can drain away.

Eat the pumpkin as fritters. Should give you strength for the trying times.
Mary MacADNski: Yes, the island got hit hard this time. The pumpkin has been in the compost pile for over a month. Food for the critters, not for fritters.
How come you have got rain and we have about 8 inches of snow! Hope you get rid of the water soon!

this is more a belate Halloween/Thanksgiving photo
Mary MacADNski: It seems that way but that's what it's like this year. I need my lawn mowed.
Pumpkin day seems a long way off now Mary.
Mary MacADNski: This was just taken, chad. It's in the compost pile.
I'm far to much of a gentleman to pass a comment like Chri's Mary. A fine looking Pumpkin though. I do hope you get the house problems sorted quickly.
Mary MacADNski: It will dry out. It's not a lot of water. It is still raining and blowing now - three days later. There has been a huge amt. of damage on the island.
So, where's your snow, Mary?
Mary MacADNski: It is in England.

Mary MacADNski: We are expecting 2 - 4 cm of snow for Christmas Eve. Wet snow, which I will have to drive in.
