Angry Sea

After posting yesterday's shot I went on a few errands and since I was in the area I visited a beach.  The huge winds were to combine with higher than usual full moon tides,  thus a tidal surge warning was issued yesterday and most likely today.  It was awesome though I did not get great shots.  The wind had me and the camera shaking and not able to keep steady.

Not a day for a paddle, then, Mary?
Mary MacADNski: It was a day for staying inside to tell the truth.

You jest...of course, Mary!

This is exciting stuff!
Mary MacADNski: We suffered a huge amount that day it seems. Roads and bridges were washed out during the tidal surge and the National Park received considerable damage.
Wow, that sea looks really angry. Lots of reddish sand being strewn up. This shot is so good, Mary, I can almost feel the wind blowing around me.
Mary MacADNski: We've had quite a few wild days and it is still going strong today. This started Monday night. Many roads and bridges are washed out and the Nat. Park is a scene of pure devastation.
Exciting and frightening at the same time I would guess Mary. That tree stump at the edge of the cliff looks almost like an animal with its front paws extended to the sea.
Mary MacADNski: There was a huge amount of damage during the high tide on the island. This was shot at low tide. We are into the third day and damage is still piling up.

That looks dramatic but not inviting Mary
Mary MacADNski: I had more dramatic shots but the shaking of the camera gave poor quality.

the color of the water predict nothing good
Mary MacADNski: No, the erosion caused by the storm surges was devastation. Bridges and roads have washed out and beaches damaged severely.

You have captured the mood here perfectly, the redness of the water is very dramatic

j'aime le tumulte de cette mer
it's not a weather to put a photographer outside !
How different from some of the coastal summer shots you have shown us Mary, one can almost sense the wind from this picture.
It certainly looks pretty stormy, Mary!!
