photoblog image Where Eagles Play

Where Eagles Play

There's not been a lot to photograph these last few days but snow.  Who wants that?  Something much more interesting is a couple of eagles spotted in a nearby field last summer. There was a female as well, perched in a tree.

We sometimes find it is still summer on An Island Walk.

So, was she playing hard to get or minding hearth and home, Mary? The guys look like they're having a little discussion about who gets to cozy-up in the nest tonight. HA!

On another note, do eagles grow wild where you are? This would be so rare to see in the States!
Mary MacADNski: There are lots of eagles here, Ginnie. These fellows were having some road kill and I interrupted them. They flew right, the female flew left. There were crows about too.

nice spot
Mary MacADNski: Certainly wonderful to find.
It must be a great feeling to be able take a photo like that. I use to photograph seagulls.
Mary MacADNski: I have hundreds of gull shots. I love them!

Grazing the field like chickens. Beautiful and majestic birds.
Mary MacADNski: They were atop some roadkill. I disturbed them.
Snow here had novelty value for a day or two. now we have fog. So Hooray for the eagles
Mary MacADNski: I am not pleased with the snow! So yes, hooray for the eagles.

Well that's a change from 'Where eagles dare'.
Mary MacADNski: We are Canadians. We play. Americans dare.
Good shot Mary, it must have been interesting to watch the action.
Oh my, I would give anything if there would be eagles just sitting in the fields here.
What a great shot!!
It must be great to have such lovely creatures as these almost on your doorstep Mary.

I've with Bill on this. Fog is not my idea of fun! Good to see these magnificent birds.
Wow - I'd love to get as close as that to the baldies!
I've yet to get a photo of an eagle in the wild this close. Very nice
Mary MacADNski: It was pretty neat. Driving home from work, I came upon three eagles and a raven feasting on some roadkill. Five-thirty on a summer afternoon.

Uh Oh!
Female is a nearby tree.

Are you sure this is "play"?
Mary MacADNski: It was all about some road kill they were attending.
