This is a wonderful moment, and I know for sure that Baxter and your granddaughter will be best friends....

Providing doggy isn't isolated & gets jealous he'll soon adapt
Mary MacADNski: They've done a good job with preparing the dog and introducing him to the babies blankets and clothing (smells) before introducing him to her in person.
I had a look at yesterday's picture too. Lovely moments. Chris is right about the dog I think.

Mother and child is something special. Grandparents too of course.
Mary MacADNski: This grandparent is lapping it up.
Another gorgeous shot Mary. These dogs are fearson protectors of people or things they love. No harm will come to this child, but I hate to think what would happen to any one who threatens her.
Mary MacADNski: The dog is very protective of my daughter and I'm sure will be the same with the baby.

A very touching image, Mary. Looks like Baxter is asleep? I'm sure that he will have a new best friend in a few years' time.

This is a beautiful captured portrait Grandmamma or Nanny (that is what the Scotts are called)grin....they are all so beautiful....as for Baxter.....he will love this little person to bits shortly....when the kids are around Buddy is right there amongst the toys and all...he is their protector....petersmile
Mary MacADNski: I'm Grandma. Her Dad's mom is Nana. I think it will take time with Baxter. He is super attached to my daughter and is jealous at the moment.

Seeing Baxter, reminds me of my son trying to bond his new daughter with their year old ridgeback dog (a huge one). Teaching him to sit nicely next to the pushcart; suddenly the baby cried and with one yelp Mufasa (the dog) was away for half an hour smile

Our grandchild was born on 11 01-2011 - yours must have been close to that as well.
Mary MacADNski: She was born on the 12th - a day apart. With this dog I am a little nervous. The first time she had a soother, the dog jumped toward the baby's face, thinking the baby had a toy. He's a beast!

Oh heck - still suffering from proud grandpa syndrome. Congratulations on becoming a grandma - the baby seems to be in good hands, so you will have a lot of time to enjoy!
