I lie ths soft feel that the mist gives to the overall shot.

Fog adds a surreal filter to this scene, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: It is pretty awesome to see. Clear everywhere else and the fog over open water. It was COLD!
WOW!!! I LOOOVE this-this is BEAUTIFUL!
