Winter Pond

My pond has not frozen sufficiently for skating this year. Snowshoeing is much better exercise anyway.

Swimming is still an option, then?

I think it's got to get a few degrees colder before you stand on this Mary!
Mary MacADNski: I wouldn't think of it!

Lovely photo
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Mate.
I love the sunlight-shadow contrast here, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: Blue snow shadows are gorgeous to the real eye. Photos never do them justice.

Best to stay clear of thin ice. I think snowshoeing will give you great aerobic activity.
Mary MacADNski: I would not step on it at all. I love snowshoeing too!
Lovely capture Mary with great composition.
Mary MacADNski: Thank you. I wish I'd waited as we've had a lot of snow since then.
And I thought there was a touch of spring in the air this morning!
Mary MacADNski: They say today was a gorgeous day outside but I was only outdoors from early morning and inside all day. Missed it working.
Skinny dipping not a good idea either Mary
Mary MacADNski: Oh, my shiverin' timbers!

A nice cool reflective image Mary - the thaw brings a positive hint to the wintery scene.
Mary MacADNski: The blue does make it cool and there is nothing more beautiful to survey than sunlit snow and it's shadows. Alas, we have had a ton of snow since then and are getting 5 - 10 cm tomorrow.
Lovely winter shot with great reflections in the partly frozen water. Beautiful.

The frigid temperatures we have been experiencing lately have frozen our tiny garden pond with no trouble at all, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: This pond has natural springs that prevent it from freezing some years though some years we skate on it.
Please keep the snow over there, we can't cope in GB a few inches of it and the country is paralyzed
Mary MacADNski: We have had a ton since then. We are having the most in 11 years.

I love the silvery look of water with ice Mary.
Mary MacADNski: The pond can go through many transformations in a season and from year to year.
Lovely image incorporating shade and light Mary. Snow is just a memory here
Mary MacADNski: We've had a tom since then and are getting more tomorrow. Definitely a big snow year and it started late.
Right..careful how you tread near there then Mary..I like the contrasts in this.
Mary MacADNski: I wouldn't step on that for love or money.
Nicely chosen little area to make an image of Mary.
Mary MacADNski: I wished I'd waited a couple of days. We have had a ton more snow since then.
