Stoppping For a Lick

I've shown a couple of shots over time of foxes in my yard. This one is blurry but I like the 'fox licking his lips' expression.  Most were clear from that day but this one...

They are great creatures
Mary MacADNski: We have a lot of them here and they are even in the city.
Licking his lips like that makes it appear as if he has just eaten something tasty. His beautiful coat really stands out against the snow. Lucky you to have them come into your yard, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: He was eating apples from under the apple trees.

I like this one Mary....it is so natural....great capture...petersmile
Mary MacADNski: There were a pair here a lot that winter.
It has a very satisfied look. I wonder what it ate? The blur doesn't detract at all; the softness is fitting for the scene. I love it!
Mary MacADNski: Thanks for that. He was eating apples from under the apple trees.

He's been in your garbage can!
Mary MacADNski: He is eating fallen apples from under apple trees.

tongue tongue at Ginnie's comment.
I hope he did not eat your chickens??
I love the colour of foxes, more are seen in Holland too.
Mary MacADNski: She was eating apples but hoping I would let the kitties out.

Blurry is good!

Love the coverage he is getting with his tongue.
Mary MacADNski: A fox licking it's lips is very stereotypical in our imaginations. Though it's blurry I'm glad I got this shot.

what a marvelous capture, as long as he didnt do damage they are great animals
Mary MacADNski: No damage. She helped clean up some fallen apples.
He looks in fine condition and has clearly enjoyed something tasty!
Mary MacADNski: She was eating apples. I have over a dozen apple trees so she was doing a service.

I wonder if that was before or after it had eaten?
Mary MacADNski: YThis was after the fist couple of apples. She stayed a long time after that eating many more.
They are truely beautiful animals Mary.
Mary MacADNski: They certainly are. I had a pair hanging around two winters ago that were in beautiful condition.

It must be smelling a cat.

It looks so tame, just missing its collar.
Mary MacADNski: The cats were inside. She was out enjoying the windfall apples.

Let's hope it was something tasty to help keep out the cold. Its coat looks in good condition.
Mary MacADNski: Frozen, then thawed in the sun, apples.
Not to worry Mary..You caught the expression beautifully.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Ron. A fox licking it's lips is so stereo-typical in our minds. I was glad to capture it.
I'm going to be the odd one out here. I like the photo as a photo, but I do not like foxes.
I can't find anything attractive in the fox, his habits and his way of life. And I am horrified at the way they are becoming so urbanised in UK and presumably elsewhere in Europe.
Mary MacADNski: I like foxes but am with you in the problem of them becoming urbanized and more tame/less wild. People should NOT be feeding them. It happens here but people should stop. They know better but don't thoroughly think of the consequences.

He's probably thinking about that tasty little snack called 'mary' smile
Mary MacADNski: He wanted snacks named Kenz and Bella.
He is looking in very good condition and what a lovely coat. The apples look like a hit.
Mary MacADNski: There were two foxes hanging around two winters ago. They were in marvelous condition.
He really seems enjoying what he is eating!
Fine capture Mary.
Mary MacADNski: I have over a dozen apple trees. They eat the windfall.
Adds to the effect in a way, do you put out bits for them or do they steal what they can.
Mary MacADNski: I am entirely against feeding them. They eat apples that have fallen from the trees. When people feed them they come to homes looking for food. There were two foxes who came here every day two winters ago. They would come on the deck and look in the window at the cats.
Fine close-up, Mary, in spite of the blur.
Mary MacADNski: I've been honoured to see them so frequently.
