photoblog image Ducks Not in Snow

Ducks Not in Snow

Eastern Canadians have had to shovel more than their fair share of snow this winter.  Some of us are getting a bit tired of it.  Therefor there will be no snow or ice pictures on this page for a week or so. I am seeing quite enough everywhere else.

Spoilsport. Think of the poor - those like me who never see snow smile
Mary MacADNski: Come see it. It's everywhere and deep. My arm is killing me from all the shoveling.

the water might still be cold
Mary MacADNski: It's in liquid form and not ice. That's good enough for me.

Too bad there can't be an equitable distribution of the white stuff for all of us who love it. (sigh) Can't say that I blame you, Mary, but I'm afraid I, for one, didn't get my fill of it this year. Those ducks do look quite happy, however.
Mary MacADNski: The fact that some years there is hardly any and then other years a tonne makes it hard. I thought that my arm was healed from the surgery but find it has been damaged by the constant shoveling.
A beautiful pair of Mallards. They will most probably be breeding soon. It is always such a delight to see the chicks.
Mary MacADNski: I've had mallards in my pond this week. Another day I had a lot of black ducks checkin' out the digs.

I think I understand
Mary MacADNski: My poor arm!
There will be a trail of little ones following them soon, if this is sort of now, before snow lol, smile
Mary MacADNski: I always have mallards in my pond but this is not my pond. I raised ducks at one time too.
So after that fairly mild end of 2010 the weather has caught up with a vengeance then Mary. Soon it will be like this again I'm sure.
Mary MacADNski: Ah! You remember me bragging about it back then. You were having snow and we weren't. We are getting walloped this year.
Poor you Mary. It must seem like forever. They make a handsome pair
Mary MacADNski: It has just been so much of it this year! I love mallard couples a lot.
Mr and Mrs..looking for a new home..They will be nesting very soon now Mary.
Mary MacADNski: These may be year rounders and beginning to breed now.
Lovely composition!
Mary MacADNski: Thank you so much.
A couple of weeks of the S stuff was more than enough for me Mary
Mary MacADNski: There is just sooo much of it this year. My injured arm is taking a beating.
