photoblog image Icy World

Icy World

We woke Thursday morning to an ice-coated world - the 21 April!!!  I remember my son going to a swimming party at the beach on this day one year.  We are having a very late spring this year and last year spring was early.

The rest of the week I'll show images of some of Thursday's ice, which lasted only a couple of hours and an outing on Friday of hiking the hills and woods.

Happy Easter!

Walking may be slow after dinner today on An Island Walk.

Like delicate glass art, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: It was more like frozen sleet so fell off quickly but was very pretty that first half hour after daybreak.

Icy??? We have 30 degrees C
Mary MacADNski: It is back to normal now. It is going to be 12 degrees today.
Sure is late with you, though it has dropped off a lot cooler here overnight. It has given you a wonderful image opportunity.
Mary MacADNski: It is very late this year. It was just a one day fluke. We are at normal temp now - around 12.

Mary MacADNski: Agreed! It is back to normal now. This was just a one day weird weather phenomenon.

Absolutely fascinating, Mary. I like the way the ice has coated each individual part here. Good composition.
Mary MacADNski: It was a really strange coating and was already melting when I took this shot.
A lovely image Mary. We had a massive rain storm with massive hailstones which was less than an inch from lapping over the door frames into our house. That was after a really warm sunny day, the weathers going crazy.
Mary MacADNski: I agree about the crazy weather. It has been sunny since though overnight last night we had showers. A beautiful Easter Sunday.
Worth waking up to Mary ... delightful
Mary MacADNski: I took a lot of shots earlier when I first got up but they didn't turn out. I wake too early.
I could look at this one for hours...
Mary MacADNski: It melted fast. That was one of the strange things about this weather event.
