photoblog image Monday's Daffodils

Monday's Daffodils

I bought the bulbs for these daffodils with the promise of peach coloured petals. They don't have nearly as much colour as the photo on the bag of bulbs would suggest.

Walks are filled with yellow on An Island Walk.

'...is what it says in the box' isn't always true. It looks nice and vibrant here though smile
Mary MacADNski: We could say that about some people too.
I wonder if the peach colour will intensify for the second season. If not, they still are very attractive, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: They are five or six years old now.

All that snow must have washed them out, Mary! grin
Mary MacADNski: Everything is washed out by the rain right now. This has been a wet, cool and late spring. There is to be no sign of sun in the forecast till Thurs. Sigh!

Call me old fashioned, but I much prefer the single colour originals.
Mary MacADNski: I have more than a thousand of those but only a dozen of these.

So the lesson goes. You want peach colour, you buy peaches. Daffies come in daffodil colours wink Still, they are beautiful.
Mary MacADNski: You would not be3lieve how many different varieties of narcissus there are.

Mary MacADNski: I love them. Usually they are later than the yellow ones. but this year with the late spring thy came together.I usually use these at the end of daffodil season.
Another fine shot, Mary
Mary MacADNski: I realize I forgot the vase but we may see it again.

They turned out to be beautiful, maybe not what you expected, but I love the peach colour of the heart.
Mary MacADNski: Yes, that part is quite peachy and I love them. They are later daffodil but this year with the late spring thy came at the same time as the yellows.I usually get to use these at the end of daffodil season.
They may not have as much peach colour to them but they are lovely just the same Mary....i never believe what is on the box.....that just sets me up for disappointmentgrin....petersmile
Mary MacADNski: I love most flowers and love these too.
