Waxwings visit the UK in winter Mary but I've never been fortunate enough to see them: lovely looking birds
Mary MacADNski: They travel in flocks and because I have many apple trees I see them. They don't go to feeders or sit on fences. In spring they eat fallen apples that have been softened after the winter's frost.
I'm so embarrassed. I have a shot that is in focus but uploaded the wrong one. I planned to replace this photo but ended up being away from the computer after work yesterday.
Not to worry..... They look good to me, they are such pretty birds they suit the soft effect smile
Mary MacADNski: Well that's good. LOL Thanks.
Lovely birds, pity about their liking for blossom, we have that issue with bullfinches
The sharper version would be nice to see sometime.
Mary MacADNski: They don't harm the trees. They eat the petals which fall off anyway.
They seem in love
Mary MacADNski: I think they are.

Very attractive bundles of feathers, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: They are that!

Never mind, Mary; the appeal of this still shines through. They are wonderful birds. I hope their liking for the blossom does not affect the apple crop.
Mary MacADNski: I'm glad that it does. As far as I know eating the petals don't hurt it. They do it when they are falling off the blossom anyway. Makes it easier to pull off.

Such colorful birds.
Mary MacADNski: The colour is magnificent. They camouflage well too.
Lovely looking birds aren't they.
Mary MacADNski: They are something I look forward to every year at this time.
They look well on their diet, Mary! Wonderful pic of a beautiful bird.
Mary MacADNski: I will show a different one from the same bunch. This was the worst of them.
