photoblog image Early July 5/5

Early July 5/5

The British Prince William and his new bride are coming to Prince Edward Island the first week of July.  British TV crews were here last week getting some videos and stills of the place in advance of their coverage of the visit.

The shots they took will be of the first week of June.  This week I am posting shots from the first week of July from various years in my archives. This is what it really will be like when William and Kate are here.

My wish for the couple would be a couple of hours with a picnic basket and a beach to themselves.

A beach to yourself is often just what we have on An Island Walk.

Your right on the beach just the two of them BUT it wont happen
Mary MacADNski: I hope they get to take their shoes off in the sand at least.
I agree with Vintage.... "it won't happen".... this is a lovely photo at low tide Mary....it reminds me of Cavendish Beach....your Island has the most beautiful read earth..... "Island Clay" is the name of one of my favorite Maritime songs sung by Lennie Gallant.... even if it's sad song....petersmile
Mary MacADNski: We are happy they're here.

I very much doubt whether they will get anything to themselves Mary...they've got a whole life of that to come
Mary MacADNski: Lots of people honeymoon here because they can get away by themselves. Shame they can't.
Not much chance of that I suspect!
Mary MacADNski: If it could be anywhere, this would be an ideal place.
this is tranquility to me
Mary MacADNski: To me too and I can do it any time; after work that is.
Those look like pretty big gulls out there, Mary - I'm sure that if they manage a picnic there'll be a bunch of cameras with long lenses!
Mary MacADNski: I guess it is the price they pay.
Thats a lovely wish for them, but I doubt it... I could sit here now with a picnic smile
Mary MacADNski: It would be lovely.
They're coming to Quebec City too, on July 3rd, for Quebec's birthday, which in and of it self is kind of weird. I expect Quebeckers will be a forgiving lot just to see them. Meanwhile, lovely view!
Mary MacADNski: Ha They have to rub it in and keep making a presence I suppose.
I would echo that wish of your Mary but we know it will never happen sadly for them. This is a very nice spot.
Mary MacADNski: Miles of beach here for anyone to be by themselves.

I'm sure that they would enjoy that very much. Alas media instrusion goes with the job, I'm afraid.
