photoblog image Holding On

Holding On

While I was posting shots of July and cats, spring was holding on tight and summer began to creep in.  It has been the coolest, wettest spring in a long time.  The year I moved here, in 1976, it rained every day in June. That much was worse.

Such beauty in dandelion weed beds...I think we should all have a weed bed somewhere in our garden!
Mary MacADNski: I keep an oval of grass unmowed as a small meadow. I love it!
Beautiful Mary! I love the way you have the sun filtering through. And I agree with Ray. Though what is a weed anyway? Something you don't want in your garden? I think dandelions are lovely little flowers, volunteers I say!
Mary MacADNski: I love dandelions especially when they are in bloom.
Lovely picture Mary. The weather here is cool for June but the rain has been much needed as we have had very little since about February!
Mary MacADNski: One bonus here is that everything is very lush. Rain stopped long enough fo the farmers to get the crops in and they are flourishing.
nice DOF
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Chantal.

This is a great image
Mary MacADNski: You are very kind. Thank you.
Ah! It's dandelion clock time on Shutterchance again - lovely in the wild, pernicious in the garden!
Mary MacADNski: I loved the one on the right, otherwise I would not have shown dandelions.

Beautiful shot with great tones well done
Mary MacADNski: Thanks so much, Noel.
Lovely shot Mary, Weeds are just flowers in the wrong place !
Mary MacADNski: Yes, that is a perfect way to think of it.
Marvellous lighting Mary and that single one on the left is the icing on the cake so to speak.
Mary MacADNski: That's the one 'hanging on' perfectly illustrating my post.
wow, great shot, DOF, light and subject are perfect.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Rob. It was the perfect illustration for "Holding On."

A fine shot Mary. In June 1976 we had the start of our hottest summer ever
Mary MacADNski: I was mistaken in the year. I moved here in '76 but it was the following spring, '77 where it rained every day in June. This June is not much better. Brrr...
A fine image,I'm tempted to blow them all away
Mary MacADNski: With the wind around here lately, you wouldn't have a chance.
I like your dandelions Mary and this is a great shot ....i mostly like the one with only one seed left on its crownsmile....petersmile
Mary MacADNski: That one seed hanging on was what this post, Holding On, was about.
Gorgeous shot Mary.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks so much. I like it too and had it as my wallpaper for a week or so.
