photoblog image Point Prim Lighthouse

Point Prim Lighthouse

This week's shots were taken during a drive to Point Prim on Canada Day.  On Point Prim lupins bloom a bit later and were in peak condition making for a wonderful display. The skys were pretty, the tide was out and the day was perfect for a walk on the beach.

Fine example of the coast-hugging Redknobphallus, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: It's only the tip, Ray.
sounds like a good idea. We have had lovely weather this weekend which has been perfect for the canal reopening and the music festival....and for taking lots of money at our book sale!
Mary MacADNski: Our weather has turned a corner, I hope. The royals are coming tonight. I hope the weather holds for their beach party.
A very nice lighthouse Mary!
Mary MacADNski: It is the oldest on PEI.

Its picture perfect. Love this picture...
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Richa. It was a glorious day.
very nice, sky is perfect for this.
Mary MacADNski: The sky was awesome that day.
your composition is great gere
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Chantal. I had the normal full-on shots but liked this strange comp.
Very 'HOPPER' Mary.
Mary MacADNski: Missing people for a Hopper but I get your drift.
Fine lighthouse Mary... I have to disagree with Frank to some extent. The essential ingredient, for me. with a Hopper image ( and Edward Hopper is one of my favourite painters) is the inclusion of perhaps a solitary person or two looking out forlornly to create a feeling of melancholia. This image is a tad too 'happy'.

sorry Frank ;-)
Mary MacADNski: You got the Hopper feel perfectly. Great artist who makes the mood the subject.
I like this lighthouse and the angle of view Mary. Did you get an invite to the beach party smile
Mary MacADNski: There was a mail strike. I think my invitation is still in the mail. My Master Card bill is too.
That's a crackin shot M...
Mary MacADNski: Thanks. I took a bunch with different foregrounds. This is so untypical because of the hard stone that it is eye-catching to me.
Lovely shot and colours
A handsome lighthouse indeed--I like the red top.
Love the contrast of the different colours
Mary MacADNski: I have some with red rocks too.
