Mesembryanthemum

Anyone familiar with this plant would recognize this as a perfect song for the Mesembryanthemum flower.  The sun brings about a big part of the flower's beauty and during it's development into a seed, resembles a blister.

This reminds me of the south of Cornwall Mary: the walls there are often covered in these colourful flowers
Mary MacADNski: Really? I would love that. They are annuals in this climate so would not return in spring. If they were like perennials here I would become a good Samaritan and plant them in every rock wall I could find, including my own. I love them!

I love the colours, Mary! Did you not have any pruners with you to cut away the leaves obscuring its full beauty? wink
Mary MacADNski: I have these in a hanging basket. I wouldn't cut the leaves.
My parents always used to plant these in the borders. They are a delight and I wouldn't have thought of them in a hanging basket
Mary MacADNski: This is my first year using a hanging planter for them. I love them so much!
This lovely flower is one of those I have difficulty pronouncing the name of.
Mary MacADNski: Just rumble it out and they always know what you mean at the garden store.
Mine have disappeared from the garden for some reason - they were all white with a blue centre.
Mary MacADNski: Oh, I know which ones you mean. Neither are perennial here. New ones every year.

Thats beautiful - its amongst my favourite flowers.
Mary MacADNski: Mine as well. This is my first attempt at putting them in a hanging planter.
Lovely image the petal colours are almost unreal , but I know this is how they are. The ultimate sun worshiping flower
Mary MacADNski: Yes, they do adore the sun.
