photoblog image Kayak Kid

Kayak Kid

I recently participated in an annual charity activity that involves a day playing on boats and in the water. I took several photos of kids practicing their boating skills.  There were all number of watercraft there and lots and lots of kids learning how to use them in a very well supervised atmosphere. This fellow was awesome on a kayak at a very young age and I was very impressed with his skill.

Takes a lot of skill to move when your paddle has both blades in the same plane, too.

Look at his concentration on cause-effect, Mary. It does make you wonder what he'll be doing 10 years from now!
He looks like he knows what he is doing. Nice one

A cute Boat Friday photo Mary... and I just saw your shot of your Petunia & Pansy girls... so sweet in the grass. (I can hardly wait for our first grandchild as my daughter-in-law is 6 months along.)

Good shot Mary, it is the water pouring off the oar that catches my eye, very good.

Yes, just see how easily he changes direction. Great shot and a great way to keep busy - helping kids to become water wise.

Looks like he is having great fun, a study in concentration!
The only time I've done any kayaking - many years ago, I was almost run down by a ferry smile Looks as he may be a bit more competent.
