photoblog image Before the Storm

Before the Storm

I'm heading out to the garden to get some sunflowers before the weather starts. After a long dry spell the heavens opened up with torrential rains on Saturday. We are now expecting rain and heavy winds for two nights and days.  The winds will be at least 80 to 100 km per hour and we will get over 100 ml of rain. Autumn has arrived.   I lost a lot of sunflowers during the last storm.

Beautiful. Just what I need to cheer me at this time of the morning, sitting at the computer because I can't sleeep.
Mary MacADNski: Oh my, So many people have sleep problems. I am so glad I don't. I could heat a small country though.

You've done the right thing Mary: they might get blown to bits otherwise
Mary MacADNski: They would have for sure. I have chairs out visiting the neighbours.

Sounds like summer's over, Mary. We've had very high temperatures over here since I've got back; records have been broken for October. I do hope we get some of your wind and rain soon!
Mary MacADNski: Same here, Alan. Records broken in September. Since October started we've already had more rain than the whole month usually brings.
A nice range of colours and shot Mary
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, John. These were nice sunflowers.
