The Look

I was remarking to Vintage the other day about kids not being allowed to jump off this bridge anymore. They can get a hefty fine for doing so. The link to the shot below, of kids another year at the same bridge, shows what a grand time the kids can have bridge jumping.

Summer 2010

My kids grew up doing this but at different bridges.

Kids gotta have bridges to jump off...its a Coming of Age thing!
Mary MacADNski: Absolutely! They are everywhere but police started patrolling this bridge and handing out fines. Outrageous!
Rules were made to be broken Mary... and the kids will still jump off of bridges.... i went back to see some of the bridges that we used to jump off of and said to myself... "that is high stupid"grin....petersmile

I always thinks it is danger, and kids don't see that
Mary MacADNski: There are as many parents here as kids. I 's been going on here for 40 years.
I don't think we will ever stop Kids jumping off bridges Mary, when I was younger I did this.
Mary MacADNski: This one is next to the National Park. I don't know why they started hassling the kids. I don't believe anyone was ever hurt. Kids do it at every bridge where it is safe.
Nice capture Mary, one has to rebel, the spirit of youth.

I am having problems with yellowbear so have started Mr Pig temporarily until shutterchance sort out all the rubbish emails that keep appearing on it.

Things we used to do are not allowed because of health and safety.
Mary MacADNski: Weird when that happens, eh?

If PEI is anything like the UK Mary no one will be allowed to do anything shortly!
Mary MacADNski: It is so restrictive these days.

My son would jump of the bridge at our town... always one was at the look-out grin
I love this picture, brings back memories.
Mary MacADNski: Yes, my kids too. Sometimes rules are too restrictive.
I guess it's for their own safety...I remember that 2010 shot.
Mary MacADNski: Ridiculous. It's part of childhood on this Island. No one has ever been hurt here.
