A gathering of a gaggle of gulls... smile
Mary MacADNski: This greedy gathering grooves on the guts of the gregarious earthworms.
Fantastic black and white Mary, I love it smile
Mary MacADNski: Appreciated, Frances
Strange - but somehow pleasant!
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Elizabeth. You're a pal.

The gulls, it seems, have a thing for fresh earthworms.
Mary MacADNski: They certainly do!
I have never seen a scene like this before Mary...there must have been something special that the plow turned up... it is a fantastic capture....petersmile
Mary MacADNski: Wonderful, fat earthworms have been fresh dug for the birds.

Getting a nice meal there.
I always wonder what they are eating, I thought this gull only eats fish.
Wonderful picture.
Mary MacADNski: They are eating worms dug out by thew plow.

Great image, love all that action.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Ann, It's grainy from the weather.
What ALL week? grin
Mary MacADNski: I never know how long these things will last.
what a crowd
Mary MacADNski: A very happy crowd invited to a great banquet.
Spledid capture, there must have been plenty of food on offer to attract such a flock
Mary MacADNski: The freshly turned field is full of fat earthworms to dine on.

Oh no. Attack of the gulls! I see that it's worms they're attacking. No wonder!
Mary MacADNski: They love the worms - like a banquet laid out by the plow.
wow...What kind of music was the tractor playing?
Mary MacADNski: Could be, The Worm Forgives the Plow.

Always the opportunist. For seabirds, it always amazes me what they will feed on.
Mary MacADNski: Agricultural land is where they obtain most of their diet here. They also take advantage of annual hatchings of insects such as mayflies and the like. I think they get more on land than on sea here.

'The birds' It's pay back time smile
Mary MacADNski: They provide only a little fertilizer for what they take out.
Holy mackerel, Mary, the noise must have been deafening. Have never seen so many gulls together and there appears to be even more outside the crop. Incredible!
Mary MacADNski: They are making noise at this time. The tractor too is going up and down the field.
There must have been some foodstuffs about I guess Mary.
Mary MacADNski: Big, fat, juicy earthworms are on the banquet table here, Brian.
That's certainly a real mess of gulls!
Mary MacADNski: A common sight at this time of year.

Excellent capture of these gulls in action, could be scary if you watch Alfred Hitchcock smile
Mary MacADNski: In person it's not scary but a bit exciting seeing them so excited.

I do like this image Mary. They look like a flock of angels.
Mary MacADNski: I like that observation. I think gulls are beautiful creatures.
Captured the clamour very well, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: That's just what it is, a clamour and quite exciting for all present.
I see we both have gulls galore posted this week. lol ... Nice!
