Rows and Rows

The annual potato crop has been planted all over the island.  This field has a few bits of green just popping through through the soil.

Its a spectacular sight, Mary, and would be good to see it again in about 2 weeks.
Mary MacADNski: I don't even know where I took this but saw fields the other day that are fully up and ready to flower. We have had a great spring for planting. Not all are planted early if possible as they want the multiple fields to be mature at different times.
Superb composition Mary... i like it....petersmile
Mary MacADNski: I like the look but would not want to live next door. There are many pesticides and herbicides applied over the season.
Wonderful patterns!
Mary MacADNski: I collect them.
Oooh, how I love all this lines. I did some of these myself once
Mary MacADNski: You planted potatoes?

The seasons do come round quickly. I can't believe that its around 12 months since you were showing us last year's planting.
Mary MacADNski: Yes, like the cedar waxwings in the apple blossoms, I show some things every year. Next thing will be summer flowers and then autumn leaves.
very nice view Mary, and quite a crop to come.
Mary MacADNski: PEI is known for it's million acres of potatoes.

fascinating patterns on the fields - yes, Alan is right, the year is running quickly.
Mary MacADNski: Yes, the older we get, the faster a year seems to go.
Your so good at these shots Mary, those compositional lines are very good.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Brian. I use them as references in painting too.
what variety do the grow...King Edward perhaps? wink
Mary MacADNski: Many kinds but I have never heard of the one you mention. We have developed many varieties here too, Island Sunshine, being one.

Lovely geometry Mary
Mary MacADNski: Potato fields are certainly that. They are nice visually.

Brilliant curves and shapes, I really like this Mary!
Mary MacADNski: Potatoe fields are pretty in most stages.
French fries, here we come! smile
Mary MacADNski: Yes the potatoes don't have to travel far for that. Some are manufactured here.
A wonderful and fascinating image Mary!
Mary MacADNski: They are a common sight here.
