These frost shots were taken at 10am when direct sunlight  was nearing these crystals.  There is already softening from the ambient temperature which has risen since the morning has progressed.

These ice crystals look so light & delicate

Mary MacADNski: Yes, much like frost I showed in the fall. I get up early enough; I just have to get outdoors sooner.
Fantastic detail Mary. Each crystal spur looks like a miniature fir tree.

another wonderful photo! Ice crytals are a wonder of nature in my view.
Mary MacADNski: The crystalline patterns are repeated in many other places in nature, including the coniferous trees, as we talked about yesterday.

Such a beautiful scene especially with the light like it is. Winter is behind us now, I think. 14 deg C here and sunny.

A very fine follow up to Monday's shot Mary, those crystals are very large.
Mary MacADNski: We don't get true hoarfrost that I see from Britain very often.

The feathering of ice is magical.
