Field of View 7

There is nothing like a good field of dandelions.  As a child and as a mother I came to adore these yellow bursts of sunshine with their unique smell and ability to stain the skin. It is unfair that such a beautiful and happy field of flowers is considered a field of weeds.

A cash crop of some seed grain has just sprouted in the field behind.

No foolin'.

3 very different layers. Love the yellow of the flowers.
Dandelions are prettier than many "legitimate" flowers...

I agree with your sentiments, Mary...and, this is a very good field of dandelions!
Terrific color Mary! Dandelions are wonderful - there are very few "weeds" in my mind... only volunteers!
beautiful yellows dotting the greens.
I love the dandelions as much as you Mary... they are still a flowers... the cash crop on the hill looks like God has passed a comb over the field....petersmile

This reminds me of a printer that I owned in the 1980s. It used silver paper that was burst off to reveal black print underneath. It used to have a pattern similar to that field in the background.

Have you ever tried honey that bees have only worked on dandelions Wonderful
Mary MacADNski: No but in AU I tried Manuka honey
When my girls were little they would bring me home small bouquets of dandelions that they had picked from our neighbours' lawns. I can imagine a child would be in her glory to have a go at a field as full as this one, Mary. Wonderful contrast between the seed grain and the dandelions.
Mary MacADNski: I picked them with such pleasure for my mom and received them with great pleasure from my children. May it go on and on.

Haven't seen so many dandelions in a field. It must be their easter gathering smile
A weed is just a plant growing where it isn't wanted
Another nice set of bands of texture and colour Mary.
Wonderfully captured with these layers Mary!
I'm sure there is a dandelion song for this picture...
Could be a crop - for dandelion tea smile
Lovely contrasting layers Mary - this is known as "pisenlit" in French (wet the bed) because of its thus explained properties - I've eaten it in salads when staying with family in rural locations, eaten before the plant flowers! PS Have looked at King of Hearts - will get it once it's re-released as its current selling price is 50USD approx!!
Mary MacADNski: Being of French heritage too, I understand the phrase but I don't think it was carried here. I will check with my translator friend on the mainland. I wish there was some way you could watch this online. I will check that out too.
shame we can't eat them! Lovely colours and lines
Mary MacADNski: The leaves are eaten when young as greens cooked or raw and the flowers can be used to make wine.
Nice gradation of colours, Mary.
