Field of View 15

Another unorthadox view of a field perhaps but not here on PEI.  We have many, many golfcourses.  A lot of farm fields were turned into golf greens. The one near me has a walking trail built into the woods around it.

Is the dust coming from a bunker
Mary MacADNski: No, they are watering the greens. There are sprinklers in the ground.

On the right...fine capture of the swarm of mosquitoes that is about to descend on the ball-swatter and suck him dry!
Mary MacADNski: As dry as it was last summer this may have been the way the worker kept mosquito free. He turned on a sprinkler and the mossies went for a drink and shower.
Nice shot! Is that mist from a sprinkler? I suppose at least the land continues to get used. I'm happy they've build in a trail for you!
Mary MacADNski: Yes, I use the trail if I only have an hour or less to get to the woods.

Good that the trail is in the woods, away from golf balls, Mary. Here so many of our ancient footpaths go RIGHT ACROSS golf-courses
Mary MacADNski: We do have to cross over a part to get back to the woods or we would have to go along the water. That would be nice but so do the gold balls.

Let's hope he can keep his ball well away from that water
Mary MacADNski: Lots land in the water. I've been picking balls for years for my son and as kids they would check the beach themselves.

I hope you're not always having to duck golf balls, Mary. I can see it now: "Shutterchancer dies from golf ball!" FORE!
Mary MacADNski: You have to cross a fairway once to get back to the woods or you are out in the open.
If I played golf I would like to have a go there. Wonderful setting
Mary MacADNski: It is a beautiful little 9 hole.
A number of farmers did the same here with varying degrees of success
Mary MacADNski: Here the taxpayers bought and developed several. - Don't get me started.

I don't know how Ray thinks of his funny descriptions.
Mary MacADNski: He's a bit cracked perhaps. LOL

He does not realise that it is starting to rain Mary.
Mary MacADNski: He probably welcomed it as last summer was extremely dry.
There is a plan to turn many fine acres of farmland just up the road from us in to two golf courses, much to the anger of we, the population, fortunately the developers seem to have run in to money problems.
Mary MacADNski: Here the taxpayers bought and developed several. - Don't get me started.

Good habitat for some creatures smile
Mary MacADNski: Foxes like gold courses. One, called Fox Meadow, has foxes in the way quite often. They will also steal balls.
A great POV Mary; this does look a fine place to play smile
Mary MacADNski: I have shown shots from this course as well as the trail many times here.

Someone taking a shot from the sand trap - or so it seems.
Mary MacADNski: No, the worker is watering the greens with the built in sprinklers.

Shame as we need to grow more produce. Still, I know it is difficult for farmers so I guess this is easier money. I think I would be too busy enjoying the view to bother with playing golf.
Mary MacADNski: I go for the view too sometimes. I will accompany my son. He likes to play a fast game by himself for exercise. It's fun. He shoots balls. I shoot shots like this.

"FOUR........" Sorry, I just couldn't resist!! tongue Great shot Mary.....I'm sure this shot will give many of the golfers out there the itch to get back out on the greens again soon!! smile
Mary MacADNski: Some courses are open but not all. They all were at this time last year.
Lovely composition with the spray Mary!
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Richard. A welcome shower.
Well, at least it looks as though they won't go short of water!
Mary MacADNski: What you see is salt water in the bay, no good for watering.

Great shot, love the sprinkler... that means the guy has to wait for his shot.
Mary MacADNski: That fellow is a groundsman, a worker. He is watering the greens.

a fine golfcourse with a lovely view - and the grass looks so refreshed while being watered. I love the up and downs of golfgreens, a sport that becomes more and more common in our society, not only among the wealthy people. In England I twice stayed at a golf hotel with the view on the golf greens.
Mary MacADNski: This golf course is not for wealthy people at all. It is only 9 holes and used by locals and tourists.
