Song Sparrow

Doing what he's meant to do, singing sweetly.

Here's a May day treat for you.  A Nova Scotia singer I have seen many times, Laura Smith, is soon releasing a new album after being off the curcuit for a while. She is well known for her rendition of  My Bonny,

I can't wait for the new album.  I have heard a pre-release cut on the radio a couple of times. Enjoy!

I fixed what I thought was a problem in yesterday's shot. I only noticed the composition flaw after I saw it here.  Here is the fixed version.

Lovely Sparrow!
I enjoyed the Laura Smith song, she has a very strong voice!

"His Eye is on the Sparrow" is being sung by Ethel Waters in the back of my mind right now, Mary...a song I grew up on so many years ago.

Lovely bird shot. I looked at the before and after and I couldn't see anything wrong with the first shot. Beautiful pink.
Mary MacADNski: The first shot had a dark line that bisected the image. You can't unsee something.

Two songbirds together, then. A very different version of My Bonny to that normally sung as "My Bonnie Lies over the Ocean".
Mary MacADNski: It is quite honestly the best version ever in my mind.

A wonderful image for the start of May.
Mary MacADNski: Today's sky was just like it and there were song sparrows galore out in my garden.
I can almost hear his sweet song, Mary. I had never heard of Laura Smith before now but so glad you've introduced her here. Another amazing Maritime talent!
Mary MacADNski: She is so amazing to hear live. She has a voice that fills a room. Check her out on Youtube.
Fine shot of this little bird Mary, and Laura Smith has a good voice doesn't she.
Mary MacADNski: She has a very good voice. Wonderful to see live.

This looks like spring, even with the bare bough, Mary
Mary MacADNski: The grass is green now. Budding is next. I have daffodils open.
Superb shot in this light Mary!
Mary MacADNski: Thank you, Richard. Today the sky was just like this and lots of songs sparrows accompanied my work in the garden.
Well fixed! And this one is a beauty!
Mary MacADNski: Thank you. I did not notice the line until I opened it here.
