photoblog image Crushed

Crushed

I usually post beautiful things but today is an exception. I saw this crushed moonsnail shell where the snail was hanging out, presumingly dying.  I hated the thought of it dying on shore, burning by the sun, so threw it into the cool water, from where it came.

It made a fine study for you, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: I miss my macro ability with my new camera.
It's a beautifully crisp image, Mary. I'd have done the same!
Mary MacADNski: It seemed right to me.

Yes, this is nature- and I like very much your fine photo -and your reaction!
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Philine. You are correct. It is nature. Gulls drop the shells to break them.

Great study of the hard nature life Mary!
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Richard. Another casualty.
Nature red in tooth and claw, Mary. Fine, crisp shot, though.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Graeme. I am going to miss my former camera's macro ability.
