photoblog image Brave Baby

Brave Baby

Not to outdo her father, aunt and uncle, but my 7 year old granddaughter wanted to do a ropes obstacle course when we came apon it at The Toronto Zoo. The link shows google photos of the course as I had only photos of the parts my family were on, none of the overall course.

I could not believe the bravery in this 7 year old.  A few times an offer was made to end the walk but she wanted to complete it, regardless of her fear. She said at one time, "Give me a minute to cry then I'll go again." It was about an hour until they finished but I think this girl has learned some valuable lessons at a very young age.

I know what she was going through, when you set your mind onto something you want to finish, no matter what, you will just do it.
That is a great, brave granddaughter you have, GRAND, in every meaning of the word!!!!
I hope you let her read the comments. She is a winner.

Funny how children just do not see danger. Quite refreshing in some ways Mary.
A good lesson indeed, Mary - you can achieve anything with determination smile

You think she is brave? You should see my 7 month granddaughter. She wet her nappies without being scared of what her mother will do.

Jokes aside - give me a minute to cry - now that is something.

A fantastic shot here Mary
I read somewhere that courage and bravery are not that you are unafraid, but that you carry on whilst being afraid...Your Granddaughter's words are so touching, she's on the right road, and I'm sure you are really proud of her, Mary.

Good for her! We have a fair number of types of courses now under they heading of "Go Ape" - usually in the trees.
She has learned that you can achieve a lot if you want it enough, and she has faced down her fears. Great for her. shake her hand for me.
Nice shot Mary and good for her, too! smile
Indeed she was a very brave young lady it seems Mary.
You must be proud of her determination, Mary. This shot reflects her 'I can do it' spirit beautifully.
She'll go far with such determination won't she Mary smile
